Prerequisite: No experience necessary! This is one of our Jewelry Foundations courses, which is necessary for continuing on to more advanced classes
In this class, you’ll learn the complete process on how to saw and pierce different gauges of metal to create intricate designs. We will discuss the different types of saws, saw blades, and metals, giving you a great foundation of hand skills to bring into your jewelry making! This 3 hour workshop will give you a thorough understanding of how to use a jeweler’s saw and how to properly finish a sawn piece!

- How to saw, pierce, and file
- Different finishing techniques, including polishing
- All materials and tools are provided
- This is a foundational class that will allow you to take advanced classes at The Jewelers Guild

- The sawing samples you will make in this course
- Knowledge on how to efficiently use the jewelers saw and appropriately finish jewelry
Instructor: Tom Wilson
Tom Wilson is an artist, illustrator and blacksmith who has been forging for over 50 years. He is a sought after designer and restorer and has worked on high-profile restorations including: the White House Portico Gates, the gates of the Globe Theatre in London, the entrance gates at Petit Palais in Paris, interiors for Neues Schloss in Germany & the Wisconsin State Capitol. He has given metal art seminars in Asia, the Middle East, the United States and many countries in Europe. His original ironwork decorates interiors and exteriors of residential, commercial and civic buildings in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Refunds/Cancelations: We offer full refunds for classes canceled at least 10 days prior to the start date. If you cancel later than the 10 days we can offer you a credit to be used at the Jewelers Guild for future classes or merchandise.
